Lawrence R. Gund

Lawrence R. Gund is the newest addition to the Kann California Defense Group. Known as a conscientious and dedicated attorney, Lawrence takes a personal interest in every one of his clients, always seeking to secure the best outcome possible.

Previous to becoming a lawyer, Lawrence worked as a photojournalist for several Southern California newspapers, including the Los Angeles Times where he covered sports, general news and feature assignments and also operated his own boutique photo studio catering to weddings and other special events.

Photographing events by day and going to school at night, Lawrence graduated in the top 20% of his class from the Ventura College of Law. While a student, Lawrence served as President of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, an organization that uses legal means to secure the fair and humane treatment of those creatures that cannot speak for themselves, and also served internships with the Ventura County Public Defender and with the Ventura County District Attorney, giving him a unique overall perspective as to the day-to-day workings of criminal law. Through these internships, Lawrence found his niche.

Other organizations that Lawrence is presently involved the Ventura County Court Mediation Panel and the Ventura Center for Dispute Settlement, where as a volunteer mediator, he helps parties resolve various civil matters ranging from contract disputes, personal injury claims and harassment, saving them the time an expense of lengthy court battles.

Lawrence also serves on the Advisory Board of the Assistance League of Ventura County, an organization that is dedicated to enriching the lives of children in the local area.

When not fighting for his clients or volunteering his time to local organizations, Lawrence can be found pulling weeds in his wife's garden or continuing the never-ending struggle of mastering the guitar.
