During a recent sweep of 66 homes in the LA County area, special enforcement officers arrested a Santa Clarita sex offender for violating his court orders. The 22-year-old male was found living with his mother who operates a child daycare service from her home.

Another female who was also living at the child daycare with her a 9-year-old daughter and infant son said she was unaware that the man was a convicted sex offender.

According to a Probation Department official, the Santa Clarita man is being held without bail until the court can address the matter.

Special enforcement officers conducted the sweep, known as Operation Safe Halloween, at five a.m. on Halloween in order to catch the highest-risk child predators when they least expected a search and just before a holiday famous for temptation. Potential violations included child porn, computers, phones and even candy or costumes that might be used to entice children into their homes.

Five sex offenders were arrested during the sweep and five computers, three computer towers, 13 USB memory cards, marijuana and a methamphetamine pipe were also confiscated.
