Two Killed in Carson Multiple Vehicle Crash

Posted by Dan Kann | Nov 28, 2020 | 0 Comments

A traffic accident involving three vehicles in the Carson area of Los Angeles County left two dead. According to the Daily Breeze, the accident occurred near Main and 234th streets in Carson around 9:30 p.m.

The crash involved three cars. One of the victims killed by the multi-car crash included a pedestrian. The other victim was one of the car drivers who was trapped inside his car after the accident. Officers responded to the scene, but details of what led up to crash and the exact cause have yet to be determined. An investigation will need to be conducted to determine what caused this multi-vehicle crash.

Multi-Vehicle Wrongful Death Claims

In a case like this, when a family loses a loved one in a car or pedestrian accident, they can bring a wrongful death claim against the person responsible for causing the accident that resulted in the death of their loved one. When the accident involves multiple vehicles, it is crucial that a detailed investigation be conducted in order to determine who caused the accident, because when multi-vehicle car accidents occur, it can be especially hard to find the exact cause. However, this fact is extremely important, as it will be used to determine who can be held financially liable for the wrongful deaths of those involved in the accident.

A multi-vehicle accident may have only one person responsible. For example, if a drunk driver hits a car and causes that car to hit another car, causation can be easier to determine. A chain can be traced from the drunk driver's original collision to the second collision. However, many multi-vehicle car accidents are not this simple--the negligent or intentional careless acts of multiple drivers can cause an accident. If it is determined that more than one driver caused the accident, under California law it is possible to get financial recovery by naming both drivers in your wrongful death claim. Because determining who caused the accident and figuring out who to bring your wrongful death claim against can be very difficult, especially if there are multiple parties, it is important to talk to a skilled Los Angeles wrongful death attorney who can assist you with your case.
